Alto is a voice dictation application for Linux. It records audio when you hold a push-to-talk key, sends it to a third-party transcription provider (Mistral AI), and injects the resulting text at your cursor.
To use Alto, you must create an account with a valid email address and a password of at least 8 characters. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. One account per person.
Usage quotas reset on the 1st of each calendar month. Unused minutes do not roll over.
Payments are processed by Creem (Creem OÜ, Estonia), acting as Merchant of Record. Creem handles invoicing, VAT collection, and payment processing on our behalf. By subscribing, you also agree to Creem's terms of service.
Subscriptions are billed monthly. You will be charged at the beginning of each billing period.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Alto application. Upon cancellation:

You may delete your account at any time from the application or by calling the API endpoint DELETE /v1/auth/me. Deletion is immediate and permanently removes your email, credentials, usage history, and subscription data. This action is irreversible.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Alto, its code, design, and branding are the exclusive property of the operator. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the application for its intended purpose.
Alto is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. In particular:
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. For material changes affecting paid subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days' notice by email.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
